Admission requirements

  1. Applicants who completed their undergraduate university study programme in mathematics or any other related undergraduate university study programme may enrol in the Graduate university study programme in mathematics, fields of specialisation: Financial Mathematics and Statistics, and Mathematics and Computer Science.

  2. A ranking list is based upon points obtained on the basis of success achieved in the undergraduate university study programme in mathematics as follows:

    Every course equivalent to the course included in the undergraduate university study programme in mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, brings the number of points equal to the grade achieved in that course, whereby it is possible to achieve a maximum of 125 points.

    Additionally, it is possible to achieve a maximum of 15 points on the basis of the following specific activities and success:
    - participation in an international mathematics competition for university students, or
    - a student success award.

Admission dates

Applications for admission shall be submitted to the Student Administration Office of the Department of Mathematics, Trg Ljudevita Gaja 6, 31000 Osijek, in the period from 22 to 29 September 2014.

The application must be accompanied by:

  • a birth certificate,
  • certificate or diploma of the completed undergraduate university study programme or any other study programme,
  • an official transcript of records or diploma supplement,
  • (a) certificate(s) of participation in international mathematics competitions for university students, or a student success award (if any),
  • filled-in admission procedure application form.

All documents must be either original documents or certified copies. The application form can be obtained at the Student Administration Office. Admission of eligible applicants shall be carried out on 30 September 2014.

Applicants must also submit a proof stating that HRK 300 and HRK 150 have been paid for costs associated with admission and materials and for the student's record book (i.e., index), respectively, to the Department of Mathematics IBAN HR3725000091402000049, model HR00, reference number of the recipient – student's personal identification number (OIB), a copy of the ID card and two photographs.

Applicants who fail to enrol at the Department of Mathematics on the given date shall waive their right to enrolment. In that case, the rank order changes such that the next applicants on the list acquire the right to enrol.
