A note on the asymptotic analysis of heat transfer in flow through dilated pipe

Abstract

The flow of a fluid through a pipe subjected to heating is studied. The fluid is governed by the pressure drop, and the heat exchange between the fluid and the environment is described by Newton’s cooling law. The longitudinal heat expansion of the pipe is taken into account. Error estimates for the asymptotic approximation in the extended domain are derived.
