O S I J E K M A T H E M A T I C A L S O C I E T Y
Osijek Mathematical Society is a professional association of mathematicians in Osijek-Baranja County and an associate member of Croatian Mathematical Society Zagreb. It was founded on 14th July 1993 as a branch of the Croatian Mathematical Society. The aim of Mathematical Society is to improve and promote mathematics and other related sciences, mathematical education at all levels, implementation of mathematics in other disciplines, as well as to improve the social status of mathematicians and mathematics as a whole. Osijek Mathematical Society achieves the set goals through organization of scientific and professional lectures, colloquia, seminars and symposiums, through publishing activities, organization and conduction of competitions, international cooperation etc. Specific activities of the Society refer to its participation in the organization of Scientific Mathematical Colloquium, Professional Mathematical Colloquium, assistance in publishing the international scientific journal Mathematical Communications, assistance in publishing the professional journal Osječki matematički list, organization of regular Schools of mathematics for talented elementary and high school pupils. We especially have to mention foundation of the Institute for Applied Mathematics as a place where all the equipment, books and journals needed for scientific and professional improvement and promotion were gathered, which considerably helped in creating a favourable climate for initiation of the Department of Mathematics, University of Osijek.

Membership in the Osijek Mathematical Society
For membership in the Osijek Mathematical Society one needs to fill in the form (pdf) and send it to the Society’s address. The member receives a copy of the journal Osječki matematički list free of charge. Membership fee of 30 kn has to be paid in on the aforementioned account.
