09/12/2025 Our students at CERC 2025: participation of the MathOs team in Wroclaw At the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Wroclaw in Poland, the Central European Regional Contest (CERC) of the ICPC programming competition was held from December 5 to 7, 2025. A total of 70 teams from 31 universities from eight Central European countries participated: Austria, Czechia, Croatia, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Croatia was represented at CERC by four teams in total: two teams from the University of Zagreb, and one team each from the University of Rijeka and the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek (Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science). All of our teams earned the right to compete by participating in the Croatian University Students’ Programming Team Contest. Our team, competing under the name MathOs, participated in the following lineup: Dario Adamović, Filip Janjić, and Dino Unukić, students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. In a strong international field, they achieved 60th place, solving challenging algorithmic problems and gaining valuable experience in team programming at the highest level. The team’s coach was Tomislav Prusina, assistant at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and former contestant. We congratulate our students and their coach on their participation and results, and we look forward to their future appearances at national and international programming competitions! More information about the competition and full results can be found on the webpages of the Croatian Association of Technical Culture and the official CERC 2025 competition pages. We would also like to thank the teams from the University of Rijeka and the University of Zagreb for the pleasant company and enjoyable time spent together during the contest, and we look forward to meeting again and competing together at the same event next year.
