30/04/2025 Monograph of the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics To mark the 25th anniversary of its founding, the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics has prepared the monograph 25 Years Later, offering a concise yet comprehensive overview of the institution’s development from its beginnings to the present day. Over the past quarter century, the School has grown into one of the leading centers for higher education and research in applied mathematics and computer science in eastern Croatia. The monograph highlights the expansion of study programs, the steady growth in student and staff numbers, and the strengthening of scientific and professional activities.

09/12/2024 New HRZZ Project at the School of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science On December 16, 2024, at the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek, a new research project titled Metric Properties of Graphs (MetGraph) will commence. The project is funded by the Croatian Science Foundation and will run from December 2024 to December 2027.
11/11/2024 Twenty-Five Years of Mathos – Journey to the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics Twenty-five years ago, in 1999, the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics – mathos – was established and began its work as the Department of Mathematics. Over the years, mathos has grown into a recognizable academic center that shapes generations of experts in the fields of mathematics, computer science, and data science.
09/09/2024 Beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year The introductory lecture by the dean for first-year undergraduate students will take place on Monday, September 30, 2024, in Lecture Hall 1, starting at 9:00 AM. After the introductory lecture, classes will be held according to the schedule. Classes for other undergraduate and graduate students begin on Monday, October 7, 2024, according to the schedule.
08/07/2024 Mathos hosted the 8th Croatian Mathematical Congress From July 2nd to 5th, 2024, the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics hosted the 8th Croatian Mathematical Congress, the largest scientific gathering of mathematicians in Croatia, organized every four years. The congress brought together around two hundred experts from all over the world, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the latest achievements in mathematics.

25/02/2024 Jelena Jankov Pavlović is a member of EMYA Jelena Jankov Pavlović, PhD, from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, has been selected as a member of the prestigious mathematical organization European Mathematical Society Young Academy (EMYA), founded by the decision of the Council of the European Mathematical Society in 2022. Her candidacy for EMYA membership was proposed by the Croatian Mathematical Society, which has been a member of the European Mathematical Society since 1993. The main function of EMYA is to strengthen the role of the young generation of mathematicians in Europe. The aim is to support them in their career development and better integrate them into the development of the European Mathematical Society and decision-making processes.
