Jelena Jankov Pavlović is a member of EMYA

Jelena Jankov Pavlović, PhD, from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, has been selected as a member of the prestigious mathematical organization European Mathematical Society Young Academy (EMYA), founded by the decision of the Council of the European Mathematical Society in 2022. Her candidacy for EMYA membership was proposed by the Croatian Mathematical Society, which has been a member of the European Mathematical Society since 1993. The main function of EMYA is to strengthen the role of the young generation of mathematicians in Europe. The aim is to support them in their career development and better integrate them into the development of the European Mathematical Society and decision-making processes.

Model Reduction for Optimization and Control

Mat-Dyn-Net Winter School on Model Reduction for Optimization and Control is held on 19 – 23 February 2024 in Dubrovnik. The school is organised by COST and the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia, within the COST action Mathematical models for interacting dynamics on networks (Mat-Dyn-Net), CA18232.

Project GAMMA

During the evaluation of the final report, the Erasmus+ project GAMMA (GAMe based learning in MAthematics) has been labelled as a “Good Practice” project. “Good Practice” is a label awarded by the Erasmus+ National Agency to projects that have been particularly well managed and can be a source of inspiration for others.

8th Croatian Mathematical Congress

We are pleased to announce the 8th Croatian Mathematical Congress, to be held on July 2 – 5, 2024, at the School of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science in Osijek.

Osijek Competitive Programming Camp – OCPC

This winter, on 18 – 26.02.2023 we are hosting a competitive programming training camp to prepare students for ICPC and similar programming competitions. The camp will consist of 7 ICPC-style contests, i.e. 5 hours and 9-12 problems each, and 2 days off. The contests are intended for 3-person teams of ICPC-eligible students representing universities, using 1 computer per team. However, teams of up to 3 people that do not meet the criterias are allowed as well.
